I know we spoke about heads up play which is really useful for the times you make it to the last two in either a 6 or 9 seater, so lets talk some more about that subject.
With heads up
poker play, it really is a very different ball game. The things that come to mind are continuation betting, taking those blinds with small pocket pairs, raising with any ace and picture cards.
Continuation betting - what is it? You raised the pot pre-flop, the cards flop on the table and you miss with your AK or your Ace rag. Whichever position you are in, you have to continue your betting like you hit the nuts. Show your opponent that you still have a strong hand even if you only have Ace high. Continue your bets but watch out for a re-raise or an all in bet.
Small pocket pairs - valuable or not? Small pocket pairs are very valuable in heads up play. I've been all in with pocket 5s and won against AK or ace rag. Be careful though that your opponent doesn't have a larger pocket pair.
Raising with an Ace - top card, top hand. Ace with anything is worth it's weight in gold in heads up play. Definitely worthy of a large raise pre-flop but watch out for your opponent's small pocket pairs if you miss the flop. See continuation betting above!
