After the big 4...where will you play now?
« on: April 20, 2011, 03:22:11 PM »
As you all know, Pokerstars, Full Tilt, UB.com and Absolute Poker have banned all USA players.

I'm just wondering where you guys and gals will play now.  What will you be looking for in a poker site?

Here are some of the things that you might need to think about before you choose where to play:

Deposit bonus
How busy the site is
Freerolls
The graphics/software
Ease of use
Ability to deposit
The fish!
Promotions including guaranteed tourneys
Cheap tourneys

I would be interested to hear where you will be heading to, to get your poker fix and what you look for in a site.

I play at Aced.com Deposit bonus im not sure about. The site wasnt very busy when I signed up, but its increasing. They have PL Omaha and NL Holdem freerolls, but im not 100% sure of how often. Software, same as Carbon, and Feltstars. Guaranteed tourneys are... A bunch. Highest I have seen is $50,000 and I think its on Sundays. Cheapest tourney is .06 cent.

Blue how true, what are we gonna due, to get our fix? Complain, usually doesn't work. Merge, is OK. I use to play alot there, plus deposits. With that 3'rd party Pic-club for depositing, I don't feel comfortable anymore. I'm not sure I told ya, but I've been steam-rolled by one of those 3'rd party sites, over a grand!
AAhhh, I have it, you will keep us up to date, on anything positive( as you've always done) on further playing updates etc., an sooner or later, this B.S. will get fixed.

See ya at A n E next sunday,

i've been playing at either Oddsmaker or Players Only for a while , quite alot of competition there on that network and alot more now it would seem since the breakdown of these others .. anyhow i still will play on this network at least sometimes , because i enjoy the 12 noon game of HORSE daily, but i am also thinking at this time might be best to wait til after this has all impacted the pool of poker sites ..  with these 3 giants going down , there will definately be a skewed view to get a good enough impression of how any of the remaining sites usually are and probably ever will be thus further.

On another note i do also play but not daily at Intertops, AdamEve ( now that i know you guys hold the LCB tourneys here ), Bodog, and lastly 5 Dimes, as heh "cheesy" the "avatars" can be there . :) But i am still myself looking for another site or two to play at , because i was quite regular at UB before this all happened.

Merge Gaming is the way to go yo, I been playing there from the beginning (thanks to no deposit bonus's). I believe there is still 1 or 2 poker rooms on the Merge network that offer a no deposit bonus. "Players only" I know for sure still does. Although I honestly could not tell you how to obtain it. But there is like 15 different poker rooms on the merge network. One of them being Felt Stars. Games are not nearly as many as the big 3, but there are games and traffic of some sort going on 24/7.

Good luck to you all. And if you find a good poker room, let me know about it. Especially if they have Freerolls with a cash prize and have little traffic.

 ;D ;D ;D

Thank you everyone for your replies.  It's interesting to hear your different views and I guess it's a case of trial and error.

You can find a list of what poker sites offer here (in case you didn't spot this before).

Daniel, Daniel Negranuu.................................

Indeed Rico - what will Daniel do and where will he play.  With a lot of the "big" players using these sites, this must have come as a big shock to them too.  It will be interesting to see which site he picks to be the pro at.

I;m still playing at feltstars and of course our tourney on Sundays and have checked out a few other sites...carbonpoker,truepoker and a few others but they seem to be pretty much all the same and not much of a challange.I guess right now it's a wait and see for me. Danial N.is one of my favorites and it will be interesting to see where the pros will play now!! I hope we will be able to play without restrictions before I'm in my rocking chair...wearing my Depends!!LOL!!!

Isn't it a bit amazeing, ( to me anyway) in as much as how Dan N. got the Pokerstars up and going. I wonder how much of his own money, he has vested with them????????? Probably the majority of any of his recent wealth, is with the company. One would believe he has signed a contract with them, prohiting him from going to another site. Sooooooooooo, Dan is more than likely in a world of hurt

If I understand correctly Merge Network will send you an actual check in the mail as one payout option. I'm sure they'll charge for it, but if payout was where you were "steamrolled" then maybe you don't have to worry any longer.

I "liked" playing the Bodog freeroll because with $500 in payouts. it's the highest paying daily freeroll that I've seen. But the damn thing up and vanished. I can not find anything anywhere about what happened to it.

If it were the same as every other freeroll with a cash payout. I would say they were thinking in terms of business  and figured they could get rid of it and still manage to attract more depositors with it gone. Due to the big 3's legal mess. But they were actually really smart about that freeroll and made it so you can rebuy and add on to it, thus allowing them to raise the payouts higher than any others. (although I've never seen it payout more than $500 no matter how many rebuys or add ons there were)

Anyway, if anyone has any clue or finds anything that says why they canceled it. Please let me know.

One thing I don't really care for about Bodog is that they have no tournaments for "micro" gaming. The lowest you can buy into one for is $1 and they only have maybe 2 tourny's a day at that buy in. Seems to be geared towards "High Rollers" in my opinion at least. And I am definitely not anything close to a High Roller.

Orren, ty for the input. Maybe I didn't explain myself, good enough. I wasn't steam-rolled by Merge, it was a third party deposit site. It's been over five years ago. I can't remember the name, but it was a popular one, to use for us people in the states, then all of a sudden, we couldn't use it anymore. I had over a grand in their system! That hurt a bit.
Anyway, life goes on, right?

hey orren, try G2G poker.  They have micro tournaments  and the lowest sit n go is twenty cents and the most players online is three thousand.  I have been playing there for about two years and it is ok.  I recently started playing on PlayPoker77 after reading about it here on LCB.  One cent and five cent tourneys and a lot of freerolls!
