Hello everybody! My nickname is Alexforth I live in Germany and am a passionated and pretty experienced poker player. However I have a problem: I to often steam all my winnings(not paycheck!) away. This is pretty the reason I would like to start a poker blog of mine. I hope the fact that I will share my everyday poker experience with you will make me more responsible with my bankroll. My starting point is a deposit of 20 Euro at 770-poker. My goal is a bankroll of 2500$ so I can play full stack NL100(blind 0,5/1 Dollar) or PLO100 shorthanded. My actual goal is a good bankroll management and not to go broke by donking the money away while playing BJ or to high limits. I started yesterday and am already at 24 Euro by playing shorthanded NL10 tables.

Welcome Alexforth. This is great - I'm looking forward to your poker blog and to see how you get on. I saw some great advice from one of the poker pros. He said to never sit at a table with more than 5% of your entire bankroll and make sure you sit at the right table stakes. 5% of your bankroll should see you through 100 big blinds so ensure you pick the right stakes. If you win and you are holding 10% of your bankroll at the table, leave and recalculate 5% of your bankroll and sit down at the appropriate table with 5% again. Im not trying to tell you how to suck eggs but bankroll management at your level is paramount. I wish you all the very best of luck and Im looking forward to your posts. blue

Bankroll balance: 26,69 Euro. Thank you girls. I think it was Chris Ferguson who gave that advice in conjuction with his "from-zero-to-hero-challenge". In 16 month he built a bankroll of 10,000$ out of nothing, just by playing freerolls at the beginning. I actually know this rules and really appreciate that you took the time to post them here, blue. So far I didnt follow them and played NL10. However I decided to go down to NL2 now, as I had some big draws to hit yesterday to make the plus. And I think it is a good metal practice, too. The good thing is: I have some mansion club points which are good for 3x20+2$ Tokens and a welcome to the club freeroll invitation with a prizepool of 3000$ and a entrance of ca. 500.

Bankroll: about 25 EurosTonight I played a 20+2$ S'nG with one of my Tokens. And got awfully bad-beaten by a loose-aggressiv-playing guy. I flopped 3 sevens and got him all with A high and backdoor flush- and straight-draws. He got runner runner full house Aces over sevens. Sick one!

bankroll: 20,60 Euro I didn't play very well today after that bad beat. I think I played a bit too loose preflop and lost a cupple of flips and run into better two pairs than mine. I stopped playing as I noticed that I was losing patience and motivation to play my A-Game. I am thinking about switching back to NL10, as players at NL2 are quiet good and kinda really tight. But I will have to give it a try tomorrow, we will see what happen.

Bankroll: 27,34 Euro I am now playing at mansion poker to keep my VIP level. I switched to PLO2 and PLO4 and it went quiet well as you see. The oppenents called me down to the river with draws although I was betting the pot and in one of my last hands I won a huge pot against a guy who called a pot size bet on the river with a straight on a paired board(see the pic). I had the full house. I am looking forward to play the welcome to the club freeroll and maybe another 20+2$ or 30+3$ S'nG with one my of my tokens tonight.

Keep up the good work.

Damn that sucked. Would he have called if you had raised pre-flop? Was he a calling station?
Unlucky though nonetheless. Well done with the bankroll though.
