What is your strategy for Heads Up play?
Personally (and very basically), I find that I am more aggressive when it comes to heads up play. It doesn't always pay off but more often than not, it does.
Any ace in your hand is worth a huge raise. The ace has massive value when heads up. Any pocket pair no matter how small is also definitely worth a good raise and even an all in against an aggressive player.
Any King, Queen or Jack i.e. any picture in your hand has value too.
I recommend playing heads up tables as often as you can to practice for that big multi table tournament or sitngos (HU Play when down to the last two).
I would love to hear your strategy for heads up play.

Blue my heads up play has always been when I am one of the final 2 at the table. I have never played a strictly HU game. My strategy when HU is to beat the heck out of the other guy... No, really, I am still working on what works and what doesn't, but I do find when I get that far I am pretty successful in walking away with the #1 position... your aggressive play suggestions here fit well with what I do. You can't be timid because at that point the blinds will just eat your stack if you sit on your hands. And a super aggressive opponent will try to steal all of your bets by hitting you hard on every hand whether they have anything or not... with them I am passive/aggressive and try to catch them by betting a good hand medium hard to get them to come back with all they got so I can take it... It works pretty well with my style of play. Of course, because I play pretty tight during the earlier part of the game the other player often has the perception my play is similar, but it isn't and that makes it a mind game as much as a poker game. katt

Mixing it up is great and can be very confusing for other players to read you.
I recall one player who would play the first few hands with rubbish and show the rubbish hand as many times as possible. After that it was nothing but great hands that would be played. Very hard to get a read on players like that but it works to a degree.
Gosh there is so much strategy for poker - we could go on (meaning talk about it) for ever!

I think you have to play more aggressive in heads up play since every hand there is a blind. No doubt about it.
