Have you ever tried to come in second... avoiding 1st place for all you're worth?"  Shocked
Well, I did exactly that tonight in a Qualifier Tournament... It was a crazy end game, that's for certain...

The reason I tried so hard to come in 2nd was that 1st place got a ticket to the $7K final this weekend and 2nd place got $53.00. So, enhancing my bankroll seemed the better choice for me right now which led me to work really hard for 2nd place.

It turned out to be quite tricky staying behind the chip leader, but in front of the 3rd place guy at the final table... Big Stack kept taking on Little Stack and losing the pot and causing him to get closer to me in the middle. BS did it one more time and LS was gone.

So, here we are head to head and now he keeps losing to me and I am desperately trying not to beat him. I folded AA in the pocket, a straight, a flush, and a full-house in my effort. Boy that felt weird. Finally I went all in on a very weak suited set of cards and managed to lose and end the game.

I think all-in-all that was one of the most suspenseful games I have played so far in my short poker career.  Laugh out Loud Laugh out Loud Laugh out Loud

Fighting to finish in a certain position is harder than trying to win.  You did a great job there Katt, firstly because you did so well in the tourney and secondly because you wanted that 2nd place cash and you won that 2nd place cash.

Congrats.

You are so very right blue... it was the hardest thing I have done as far as winning a tourney. I was practically shouting at the BS (well at my computer) when he kept calling out the LS and then losing or folding. And I swear it took 20 or more minutes head to head to lose my last $2000 while he had a $25,000 stack... raising just enough to keep him in the hand so I could fold and give him the money and he would fold with that huge stack... it was crazy... but, my bankroll is pretty healthy at the moment. I'm lovin' that!

That is great to hear Katt.  I'm just so impressed on how well you've done so far and this is just the beginning of your poker journey.

Blue the bankroll is almost up to $100... now, I know I must keep my head and not spend it like a drunken sailor, but at the same time I can play in some more expensive games for bigger payouts. I have changed my filters to show micro and low buy-ins. I used to only look at the micro ones...

I am going to have to gather up all these experiences and write my poker journey memoirs! But, I am busy living them... Laugh out Loud Laugh out Loud Laugh out Loud
