I hope I'm not bringing up a taboo subject. I know all the money-based online poker sites are not based in the US, yet according to stats 60% of their revenue comes from US players. Have laws just not caught up with the internet in this regard or do players just try and fly under the radar?

It is not illegal for US players to play online poker since they are all offshore or overseas and the actual playing is not happening on US soil, its the payment providers that are based in the USA that they are going after, so no need to "fly under the radar" or worry that you are doing something wrong.

Its really a tricky law that is into effect. I never heard of a person gambling online being prosecuted. Its as Tony says....they go after the casinos who issue the money and banks. Washington just recently passed a law against players betting online. It is considered a Felony if caught. There is still not any arrests to a player that i know of. Lipstick

Has anyone taken proceedings against US Govt. under the Human Rights Act? Surely it is your human right to spend your money as you see fit be it to gamble, smoke, drink or whatever. If you earned it and paid your tax on it, its yours to do as you please.
It really sucks and I hope they never ever bring anything in like that over here in the UK.
