Are we Predistined to Win by the Seat we are in?

Hiya Poker Players,

I have just recently gotten back in the game of poker. I tend play in spurts. Sometimes months at a time, then i take a break from it. I have a love/hate relationship with poker.

I am wondering if anyone feels the same way i do. When your at a table and on a losing streak i am beginning to think that no matter what you do...your NOT gonna win. I can't help but feel that seats are predestined to win/lose.

Is there a man with a switch in the back room that says...hey you have not won in awhile, so no matter what you do today you will win? Or you have won enough so no matter what you do your going to lose.

Is the game programed by "hot seats" or by random "names"? I have had the worst imaginable luck lately. Every bad beat that is conceivable has happened to me. We are all aware of the RNG.........but is there an RNG on seats and players too?

Has this ever crossed your mind?

When i read this.. one question comes to mind, and me not knowing the answer, i have not played poker online at tables.. but are you able to get up and move to another seat, is there a choice, please don't take this as a silly question, but i hope you see what i'm trying to get at.. whether it is be names, seats or whatever

Hi Imagin,

No question is silly! But to answer your question....a player does not have an option to choose your own seat. Also without a moments notice you can be sent to another table when playing a multi table tourney.

Kind of why i wonder if the name is possible. Because even when thrown to a new table the luck seems to be the same. Not always, but there has been those occasions where ya think......."no way, my luck can't be this bad hand after hand, bad beat after bad beat"!

theres only one solution if you get that feeling after joining  a table: leave now!

seriously, i dont really believe in it, but i know the feeling anyway...
and if after trying  a new table it happens  again, one should consider calling it  a day: there are just those days where gambling wont bring fun:)

Nah Lips i can understand your frustration about beats etc .
But no way do i believe that you are predestined to win because of the seat you
are in .

Maybe this could apply to bingo i dont know ive never played a game of bingo
but im guessing u sit at the same seat all or most of the night .

Ive been playing poker everyday almost for 3 years approx and its how i make my
living believe it or not . I dont make huge sums of money or play the highest stakes
but i earn around $800 on an average week so get by .

I go on horrible runs for months at a time but if you are a good player and have good
bankroll management you will overcome the variance that comes with the beats
and you will profit against the fish and the beats in the long run  

Also to answer a question asked i usually play 4 - 6 tables at once so if im playing
on Pokerstars i always sit in the same seat ( you can pick where u sit on Pokerstars )

Its easier to see where you are on the tables and im also superstitious
