Opinions on gameplay

$3000 guaranteed top 10 get paid.....You are positioned 6(12000 chips approx) out of 13(smallest stack 4000)...the blinds are 400/800.....every one folds to you.. you pick up 99...you raise to 1600...its then fold fold to the BB  who is Chip leader on 40000 approx chips...they raise to 5100..Whats your next move??

I would re-raise all in - show him you're not scared of him and you have a decent hand.  It could well be bullying tactics by the chip leader and he prob has 72 off or some rubbishy hand like that.

Exactlly what i did...Wrong move..i thought the same ..it was bully tactics...He turns over AJ  and i dont need to tell you what hit on the river!

Not sure if it was the right thing to do being so close to getting to the final table....$890 1st place nr Xmas would of been nice..even the $75 for 10th would of been nice

Wondering if i had just called that raise..i would of been pot commited i guess....but i may of been able to get away from the hand and still have some chips to fight on with...

Maybe i should of folded that 99...i have a rule never to take on the big stack normally(not untill in the money anyway) as time after time you will get a decent hand on a smaller stack  get called and the big stack gobbles up the chips always...

Im so annoyed as we had just had a break and during that break i told myself i was gonna fold everything and play tight tight

I would have folded the hand... at that point I am watching the number of players that just gotta go before I can get in the money... but, I have to admit that I too have succumbed to the same thing you did when I get the "I ain't gonna let that chip bully get me!" way of thinking going on... better luck next time!

What had the chip leader's play been like before this?  I guess I should have asked that question before answering.  I always take previous play into consideration (if I know how they have been playng of course).  Arriving at a new table is the hardest for sure.

Yes..they had been raising most hands..bullying the table...i should of stated that..i had only played one hand at the table in about 25...so i thought with my raise it would of scared him off..i guess on hindsight i should of fathomed it out...it was the biggest raise he had put in.I kind of convinced myself he was trying to thieve the pot l

I hear ya soixante.  This happens to me sooooo often.  So frustrating.  Makes ya want to quit playing poker.  But then I see the big wins Zuga has and it restores my faith. 

I can see why you went all in with 99.  The bully got you in the end.  Seems it happens so often and that is what is very frustrating about the game.

Well i actually had a meltdown a little earlier and have removed one poker room ...

Another tourney..grinding away to stay in..picking up bits and pieces ..then a long run of nothing..not getting anything decent..i can see my stack dwindling at this rate im going to get blinded out.... then Hallelujah AK suited comes along..Aha  at last...i decided all in time..well surprise i get called in 2 places..im thinking ok i have been kippered up yet again 

AJ and KK are turned over by the other 2 hands..im thinking well that couldnt of worked out better for me! ..KK the bigger stack holds out and TILT time again

lol - no not me but it definitely sounds familiar.

Have you tried Texas Holdem Saloon.  They have a different RNG to other sites - you may well do better (although the jury is still out on that one).

Well Sunday night again i was invited to play this tourney again....This week because of more entries the top 13 got paid...90 started....I had to grind hard..was getting nothing  after nothing....3 all ins kept me in...There was 17 left..i have no idea how i got this far....Was down to 4000 chips  blinds were 1600/800...i get dealt 10 10  Uh oh..i know whats gonna happen!!  I shove..i get called in 2 places yet again...one by the chip stack just above me..in another place a stack of about 16000 chips...Turned pair of 7s...the big stack has Q 10     and he hits the straight and takes the 2 small stacks out!!!!   So yet again so close and so far..My Bp is not doing good at the moment!
