The Two Keys to Good Poker video (from Black Chip Poker (USA OK)) recommends "Poker Math that Matters".

Have you read any good poker books and would you recommend it to a new player or a seasoned player?

I'd love to hear your comments/views/suggestions.

Since I posted this thread, I've been looking at some of the books available (of which there are many) and this one caught my eye:

"Playing Sit & Go as a Business" By Rob Tucker

"The Money making system in this book is untapped secret the pros have been guarding for too long! You can make a business out of playing sit & goes-just like the pros are doing everyday. You only need to know their secrets strategies to rake in the profits. Now poker guru Rob Tucker exposes the formerly hidden plays the pros use to win-and shows you how to make money in both online and live sit & go tournaments. You'll learn powerful plays to outsmart aggressive internet-style players, take advantage of weaklings, and dominate super tough opponents."

This would be ideal for me as sitngos are what I love playing the most.

What book would you recommend for yourself?

thank you blue,

I'm not very good at poker, not sure which cards to hold or stuffs like that.  If I want to be better in poker, I should find some books to read or practice on free mode more often.

The current top 3 best selling books are:

Brilliant Online Poker by Paul Lester
Texas Hold'em Poker: Win Online by Paul Mendelson
52 Great Poker Tips: At Home, at Tournament and Online by Lou Krieger

If you happen to have a kindle,I've found 18 books available.  I'm not going to list them all but I've picked a couple:

Playing Online Poker To Win: Strategies And Tips That Will Outwit Your Opponents by Gaylord Edwards

Play Poker Like the Pros: The Greatest Poker Player in the World Today Reveals His Million-Dollar-Winning Strategies to the Most Popular Tournament, Home, and Online Games by Phil Hellmuth.

Hmmm... i cant recall ever reading any material on poker but its a good idea...  I'd like to find a book that simply explains the rules from beginning to end and the most basic strategic playing methods. lol does that makes any sense ? thanks blue

I received Doyle Brunson's book at Christmas one year. This book was massive and i never quite got through it all, instead kinda skimmed it for interesting sections.

I think the best advice at least for me that i ever practiced was the helpful tips Full Tilt Poker pros would email to members. Players could choose what pro they wanted advice from and they would send little one or two liners of advice.

It seemed at least for me these tips are easier to retrain and practice then reading Doyle's large volume book on poker because i found it overwhelming.

But that's just me, i am a snippet reader!

I read a couple of David Sklansky books. He has numerous books out. I didn't like his Theory of Poker as much as the Hold'em book.
