I have played in a league and we used to play every weekend with just a small buy in.  Its really great fun and you get to know how everybody plays.  It's something to look forward to as well and a great place to chat and get to know everyone.

Has anyone else ever played in a poker league?  How did you get on and did you enjoy it or hate it?

Hi Blue,

I have never heard of a "Poker League". Sounds like it would be a blast. Could you elaborate on how the league works? Is it like bowling where you compete against other poker leagues? How many people are generally in the league?

Might be something worth forming here in Chicago...i like the concept!

Hi Lipstick,

There can be league v league games but also league games where a set number of players played each week and depending on where you came in the tournament each week, depends on how many points you earn.  The one with the most points at the end of the "season" is the winner who gets a special prize.

They are really good fun, great to run and organise and very very competetive.  Makes for some fantastic game play.
