This is Cool!!!

30 Dec 2011

LONDON, England -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- It’s one week until the ninth annual PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) begins at the Atlantis at Paradise Island Resort and Casino in the Bahamas, and excitement is building for the first major live tournament of the year. The upcoming festival, which will feature 41 events in just ten days, takes place from January 5-14, 2012.

The latest big announcement is that the PCA $10,300 Main Event and the $25,500 High Roller finals will be broadcast as live (with a 40-minute delay) on PokerStars.tv with hole cards revealed, meaning that people all over the world can follow the action online. The broadcast times are as follows:

· PCA Main Event final table – January 13, 13.40 ET (18.40 CET)

· PCA High Roller final table – January 14, 13.40 ET (18.40 CET)

The broadcasts will be hosted by Joe Stapleton and James Hartigan with Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu joining them in the commentary box. The shows will feature viewer freerolls, interviews and deposit bonus promos, and the commentary will be available in English, Spanish, German and Russian.

PCA Main Event

More than 600 players are already registered to play the Main Event, generating a $6 million prize pool – and this is expected to soar over the next seven days. There are still chances to qualify for the tournament in live satellites at the Atlantis resort. The $1,100 buy-in live satellites run on January 6-7 at 17.00 and 19.00, with one rebuy allowed per player.

Poker players from around the world are invited to come to Atlantis to qualify or buy-in directly to the PCA Main Event, or to play some of the wide range of exciting poker tournaments on offer for players of every bankroll and poker preference – with buy-ins ranging from $200 to $100,000.

In welcoming the PCA to the Bahamas again, Fred J. Lounsberry, Chief Executive Officer of the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board, said: “The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is an exciting event that offers visitors to Nassau Paradise Island a unique opportunity to experience Vegas-style poker tournaments while also taking advantage of the destination’s beautiful beaches and world-class cuisine. We are thrilled to welcome the PCA back in January, 2012.”

Super High Roller

In addition to the Main Event, poker’s biggest names will once again compete in the $100,000 buy-in Super High Roller.. Last year saw two Team PokerStars Pros go heads-up for the title and huge first prize, as Eugene Katchalov overcame Daniel Negreanu to win $1.5 million.

More than 20 players have already confirmed their attendance in 2012’s prestigious event, including: Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, Bill Perkins, Brian Rast, Bryan Colin, Bryn Kenney, Dan Shak, Daniel Negreanu, David Sands, Eugene Katchalov, Galen Hall, Isaac Haxton, Jason Mercier, Jonathan Duhamel, Masa Kagawa, Matt Glantz, Mike McDonald, Sam Stein and Scott Seiver.
