Quite often when you are SB or BB you will see the Dealer (the button) raise. You've got a rubbish hand and you're going to fold, as usual.
What you should remember is that being the Dealer or the button and raising, is a positional raise it's not a "gotta great hand" raise. Being BB or SB, you have to pay the blinds. You can't decide not to pay them but you can take action to protect them.
You will see a lot of players taking advantage of their position and the best position of all is being the dealer. Next time you play, watch the Dealer/button raising when there aren't many players, if any, in the hand.
So how are you going to beat this position bet for this hand and the hands to come?
Re-raise and re-raise fairly big. Show the dealer he picked the wrong hand to steal your blinds. Once the flop is down, you must continue your bet and take that pot there and then. Of course this assumes your opponent didn't fold on your original re-raise, which you will see that they do fold quite a lot.
If your opponent continues to call your bets, time to back off a little as the chances are they have hit something (unless of course you have hit a good hand too).
Have you ever noticed this? Have you ever taken action to stop your blinds being stolen by the dealer?
Would be great to hear your thoughts.

Table position is an area of betting that I don't have a good grasp on yet. I am an incremental learner and haven't got to the nuances of position yet. Reading this is a good step for me in learning this and has given me even more of this " Poker stuff" to think about! I will be watching that dealer position like a hawk! katt

Once you realise what they are doing, it will stand out to you like a sore thumb Katt. I'm glad it's an eye opener for you and I'll be interested to hear your findings.

Great advice blue. This becomes very noticeable at later stages of a tourney when blinds are much higher

I have been watching for this, but I have not seen a lot of it in the SnGs I have been playing. I need to get into another big tourney... oh I know... I will be in the King of the Felt tourneys Sat and Sun so maybe I will see it there.
