How World Cup of Poker IX WorksStage 1 Qualifiers - Team Selection
The World Cup of Poker starts online with 72 teams competing for their place in the final at the PCA. Countries are split into regional goups, and you can represent your country by playing up to four $2.20 heads-up
No Limit Hold’em Super Knockout tournaments.
The aim is to finish as high as possible in each tourney you play, as each country will be scored based on the highest-ranked individual player from that nation. A combined final score for each country will then be calculated after all four tourneys have played out, and the winner of each group will secure their place in the live final. The United Kingdom is included in Group 4, and you can help win the team it’s seat in the final! Check the WCP Qualifiers page for Group 4 dates and times.
Stage 2: Player SelectionIt’s now time to find out which players get to be on the eight winning country teams from Stage 1 when they arrive in The Bahamas. If your country team makes it through, you can compete for your place on the team with freerolls and low-stakes qualifiers running August 26.
The eight, four-man national teams will then jet off to the 2013 PCA in January for the live final and the chance to win a share of thousands of dollars in cash prizes, plus the title of World Champions! Each team will also have a special guest added to their ranks as Captain, including big name Team PokerStars Pros and Team Online members.
Full details of the live final at the 2013 PCA will be announced soon - keep checking back for more.
