I'm a casual poker player who will be trying out the bonuses offered on LPB and let you all know how i do.

Since my last post, I've been able to play a bit more poker then normal basically because rush tournaments mean i can squeeze a quick game in more easily. I wrote a rush guide
in my last post, but had only had one decent rush pay at that time so it was more theoretical.
Since then its proved to be a very handy strategy for getting deep in most rush tournaments, and i've had quite a few wins in the 135 man rush sit and go's. I've also fallen agonizingly cl...continue

After playing for a few months at the smaller sites i finally signed up to one of the big boys, and they didn't disappoint. Their bonus isn't exactly making me a fortune, but the good thing about it is they give you plenty of time to clear it. I started with $600US so i could get the full bonus - my bankroll is now sitting at $1600, with only $40 of that coming from bonuses.
But rather then give you a dull run down on full tilt, i thought something much more valuable would be a strategy guide to rush poker. Because it's quite new people are still trying to work out the best str...continue

For some reason i can't get enough of those cheeky little Germans at Everest Poker. It's hard to explain what keeps me coming back to this site, it helps sure that i'm winning consistently there... But there's still something else.
The software is still a bit clunky, and there hand history tool is terrible compared to sites like poker stars. But the players are bad, the staff helpful and you can gamble your summit points!! I think its that last point that i really love, and i can't understand why other sites haven't thought of this.
After scraping together 300 su...continue

I signed up at bwin for the poker forum challenge a few months back. Unfortunately we didn't get any money out of that, but i have to say it was the best value promotion I've seen for a long time. Even though we didn't make any money we got close enough to smell it. After the other 4 team members were all knocked out at the half way point i knew we needed a win so i stepped up the aggression and fell just short at 4th. I can't wait for next year, and even though no one else scored a high finish i thought the rest of the team played well and just got a little unlucky.

I actually did this bonus last year when latestpoker bonuses had there leaderboard challenge, and in the end it turned out to be a site where the bonus saved me my entire bankroll.
After getting locked out as soon as i deposited i thought i had just thrown away $100, but the admin at latestpoker bonuses managed to sort it out and got my account unlocked. So i first jumped on some .25/.50 Euro 6 man tables and nothing seemed to go right. When i wasn't getting a bad beat i seemed to be running into aces, and i had soon dropped $50.
I took a break and tried again the...continue

There is quite a lot to bluffing, and i wont cover all it here. But this should give you a guide of when to bluff and more importantly when not to bluff.
Nothing feels better then getting away with a nice sneaky bluff, but at the same time nothing feels worse then getting called with absolutely nothing and looking like a monster fish. So here are a few common mistakes people make that you can incorporate into your game straight away.
1. As a rule if your going to bluff do it on the flop or the turn. If the person doesn't have anything the last thing you want to d...continue

Okay so its been a pretty crazy week at Everest poker, Despite playing very low stakes there where many ups and downs and for the first time in years i got called a fish!! And not once but twice, the nerve of these cheeky Everest bastards.
Everything started great, i had a good week of winning about $20 a day on 25/50c tables plus a few final tables in some tournaments(crashed out before any good money, but its nice to get a cash).
It was a $5 freeze out where i was called a fish, down to the last 20 and i made a very risky call on an all in on the river. i was s...continue

The first bonus i am trying out is Everest Pokers $300 sign up bonus. I picked this one because you don't have to deposit anything except the minimum to claim it.
I deposited $100 to get started but you could begin with less if you like. Now i'm ready to go. I must admit the software is a bit clunky but works well enough.
I haven't actually played poker for six months so i thought i would take it slow, and entered a few $1-$5 tournaments and jumped on a 50c 10 man cash table. It didnt take me long to remember why i stopped playing, as my aa and kk got owned almos...continue
Welcome all, I've been playing poker for a few years now and i thought i'd have a crack at some of the poker bonuses offered here at LPB and see if they're worth the effort. Stay tuned for some reviews, and a few tips that should change your game for the better.
One thing about poker bonuses is, unlike casino bonuses you can't beat the house with them. The idea here is, if your going to play poker anyway why not get an added bonus for it. So if your a losing poker player, these bonuses won't save you... They'll just lessen the pain a bit until you learn how to become a winning p...continue
