Playing online is a wonderful way to get a game of poker whenever you fancy one. You can choose the type of game you feel like playing and at the stake that you can afford.
You sit at the table full of epectations and excitement waiting for the game to begin. The game begins and after a few hands, so does the bad language.
Some players believe it is their right to win a hand no matter what rubbish they call with.
I played in a game yesterday, a freeroll, and one player lost quite a few chips to a British player. The language this preson came out with was disgraceful. The following hand, I took a lot of chips off him - I had the better starting hand and hit top pair. This person raised all in and I called and all they had was bottom pair. I hit trip kings and beat him although my pair of Kings were good enough all the way to the river.
At this point, it was just a barrage of abuse about British players. The "F" word was used in every sentence and the "C" word made it to the table too. I tried to reason with the player saying that he should never have raised all in with bottom pair and so on and he did not want to listen. The abuse got worse and worse. In fact, I had only been at this table for 4 or 5 hands so I had not seen what had gone on before.
The language and abuse about Brit players got so bad that I decided to make a threat to see if it would have the desired effect. I told the player that if he continued using bad language, he would leave me no alternative but to report him.
The cheeky monkey came back with "well I'm not the only one that has used bad language". My response was to tell him that he was the only that had used bad language since I had joined the table.
After all this, the player went on tilt and started calling and re-raising with more rubbish. He managed to get himself knocked out within a few hands. He then proceeded to complain after he had been knocked out but his language was at least clean this time.
Nobody should put up with bad language at a game of poker, be it online or in real life. The threat of reporting players for their language seems to work. Don't ever put up with it as there really is no need for it.
