You may have read that the PokerStars 85 billionth hand is likely to hit the tables on the 20th August.

If you want to be part of the PokerStars ring game fever that is currently going on at the site, make sure to logn and play on the ring game tables.

The tips from PokerStars to maximise your chances of hitting one of the milestone hands (which range between 84,700,000,000 to 85,000,000,000) are as follows:

Play as many ring tables as you can - the more tables you play the better chance of being dealt into one of the milestone hands
Play for longer - the longer you play, the more points you earn, the higher your prize
Spend more - the more you spend the quicker your points will mount up

When playing, be sure to keep an eye on the hand numbers in the top left hand corner of the table. If you see a number with all zeros on the end, you've hit a milestone hand.

But what happens once a milestone hand has been reached?

The first thing that happens is, the table is paused. The reason the table is paused is to allow other players on PokerStars, time to make it to the table to watch the hand unfold as it happens. You will see an announcement in the lobby (top right hand corner) of the table the milestone hand is on and you can just click the link to take you to the table.

There can be a bit of cunfusion at the table once the milestone hand hits. Player comments revealed that they were not sure exactly the best course of action to take. Some players fold while the majority are all in. It seems from the chat afterwards that the best action is just to go all in.

Once the hand has been dealt, the pot is awarded to the winner and the table director will announce that they are now calculating the winnings from the milestone hand at the table. The winner of the hand will recieve a very nice sum as their prize and if you watch the chat box, you will see how much they have won. Other participants in the hand will also win a prize and the director will announce the minimum amount won at the table by the "non winners" of the hand.

Even if your bankroll is small, it is well worth playing at the micro tables i.e. 1c/2c as the milestone hands can hit any ring table. You will see an estimate of the amount you can win if you win a milestone hand or participate in a milestone hand near the bottom right hand side of your table.
