As you have probably read by now, Antonio Esfandiari won the World Series of Poker Big One for One Drop Charity tournament and pocketed one of the biggest ever poker game prizes of $18,346,673.
Richard Yong was the first out of the final table losing on the river to Brain Rast's Kings.
Bobby Baldwin was next to go in 7th place on the 41st hand, Baldwin was all in with A10 against Guy Laliberté's pocket Jacks. The best Baldwin could hit was 10s on the flop but it wasn't enough to beat Laliberte's pocket pair.
Next to go was Brian Rast in 6th place knocked out by Trickett with an amazing quad 3s against Rast's Ace flush.
Guy Laliberté lost his seat with pocket Qs against AK from Esfandiari to finish 5th and pocket $1.8million. He received a standing ovation from the appreciative crowd and deservedly so, for all his hard work for the One Drop charity.
Sam Trickett ensured the demise of Phil Hellmuth in 4th place. An exciting hand from the start Helmuth had A10 and Trickett had AQ. The flop gave Hellmuth Aces and 10s putting him in the lead but a King on the turn and an unlucky Jack on the river gave Trickett the straight and Hellmuth walked away with $2.8 million.
David Einhorn was the next player to leave the game in 3rd place pipped by Esfandiari. Einhorn had K9 and Esfandiari had K10. Both players hit a pair on the flop - 9s for Einhorn and 10s for Esfandiari. Nothing else helped either player and Einhorn was gone with a huge win of $4.35 million.
Finally after 3 days of play and excitement, Sam Trickett and Antonio Esfandiari are heads up. After a pre-flop raise from Esfandiari and a call from Trickett, the flop came down Jd 5d 5c. After raising, reraising and more reraising, both players were all in and the hands were revealed. Sam Trickett had Qd 6d and Antonio Esfandiari showed 7d 5s. So it was a flush draw for Trickett and trips for Esfandiari. The turn came down 3h and no help to either player and the river was 2h.
Antonio Esfandiari won the game and $18.3 million with a huge second place prize for Sam Trickett of $10.1 million.
Congratulations to World Series of Poker for an amazing game and a huge donation for a very worwhile cause.
