Isn't technology a wonderful thing!
With your favourite poker sites releasing mobile poker apps, it makes continuing or starting a game of poker on the move a possibility. PokerStars, bwin Poker, 888 Poker and Party Poker are just a few of the sites offering mobile poker games.
Most sites offer apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry so if you have one of these smart devices, you are well on your way to playing poker on the go.
You could start a game at home on your laptop or pc, log out of the poker site and log in on your mobile to continue your game. Alternatively, you could start a game from scratch on your mobile. whilst sitting on a train or your local bus.
Playing online poker on the move sounds like a fun way to shrug off those commuter blues plus you could win a few bucks in the process.
What about security though?
Playing on a mobile means that the poker sites must ensure your financial information, including your credit and debit card details along with your name and address, is 100% secure. Make sure you select a site that guarantees your details are secure and their banking section is encrypted.
What about quality ot graphics?
Reducing the huge programs to "mobile size" is no small task for poker sites and therefore, quality is of paramount importance. There is no point in playing on your mobile if you cannot see your cards properly or find your way around the app. Make sure you pick a mobile app that has quality graphics and is rated by previous users.
What about game types?
Make sure the poker app you download covers the game types you want to play. No point in downloading an app to play poker on your mobile if they don't cater for your favourite game.
Playing for fun is an important part of the mobile application. This will enable you to test it before you play for real and give you a good idea of any bugs or problems that may occur.
Next time you're walking down the train platform or jumping off a bus and you see someone concentrating on their iphone or their ipad, they will likely be playing poker. I have yet to try poker on the go but not for much longer! I should hopefully be getting an iphone this month and I'll let you know how great mobile poker is.
