Beware the monster stack, for he shall runneth over you.

Thursday the 28th of October 2010

Hi Y'all,

It's been awhile. I considered coming up with an elaborate and fantastical untruth for my late blog entry, (because generic lies are boring). But let's just say I was cattle-rustling wild hamsters on the wild plains of the serenghetti. Warning note: the wild hamster is an even more ferocious animal than the domesticated hamster. Do not, ever, grab one by it's little hamster coogle sack.

My wild and crazy adventures, and my frequent globe-trotting have somewhat hampstered (I mean hampered) my poker play. I will continue to play and blog for latestpokerbon...

Why you cheeky monkey!

Friday the 9th of July 2010

I'll no longer apologize for my late blog's, instead I will update my blog at the start of each month. Once a week was too much, I just don't have enough elucidating poker knowledge to warrant it!

Inspired by the heroic yet foolhardy documentary "The Cove" starring Isabel Lucas, I spent much of the month protecting dolphins in Japan. And was, as thus, unable to play much poker. I have also stopped eating tuna, as the majority of tinned tuna is complicit in the accidental, yet avoidable deaths of thousands of dolphins every year. I am still fine with the killing of innocent mogwa...

Ex-Squeeze me?

Tuesday the 1st of June 2010

Why hello to the 5 people who read my blog. I once again apologize for the delay, but as you know poker players usually fall into one of two categories. Those that fastidiously play poker, and are forever trying to hone their craft, and those that are lazy. I shall not tell you which one I am, but only that I definately fit into one of those 2 categories.

When I first began blogging here at LPB, I gave detailed analysis of my tournaments. But have since realized that it is probably more interesting to talk about one particular aspect of tournament play each time I blog, and just...

Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble

Monday the 3rd of May 2010

For the 5-6 people who actually read this blog I apologize for the 4 weeks of non posting. I'm sure my well written floundering blog was well missed, no? My laziness often knows no bounds (although this doesn't apply to my squash play), and I have no excuse for my lateness, apart from I geuss the annoyance of bubbling so often this month, and quite often with the best hand.

For those who don't know the term bubble. Technically it means the last person in a poker tournament to go out before the money starts. But it can generally apply to anyone busting out within the vicinity of ...

Week 3 - The Pizza Oven

Sunday the 4th of April 2010

This weeks blog is dedicated not to my weeks online tournament play, but the unfortunate waitress at Star City Casino who cost herself 15 days work, and cost me $10.

I'll just make a quick summary of my tournament play this week first. I played limited tournaments this week, quite a few Omaha Hilo tourneys where I bubbled a few times near the money, and a few lower limit ($20) hold'em tourneys. It was a frustrating and stilted week where I think by memory I only cashed once, but ended the week only down $60 so it could have been worse.

Probably the most annoying ...

Week 2 - Not much love

Monday the 29th of March 2010

Hi y'all,

Week 2 started with much promise, with a handy cash in Monday's $50 70K garaunteed, but the rest of a week was a bust. I had some errands, and some trouble sleeping, and some sickness this week so only played the 70K 3 times, but filled the week up with a few Omaha HiLo tourneys. Here's a short summary of the week:

Monday - Slow played 88's to perfection, then had a maniac betting into me on flop of A-J-2, with AK in my hand. After a few smaller pot's I had another nice stack 11K going, usually enough to hang around til the cash.

A...

Week 1 - So close, but yet so far away

Monday the 22nd of March 2010

(THIS WEEK I PLAYED THE $50 BUY-IN 21:30PM FROM MONDAY-FRIDAY ON POKER STARS, IT USUALLY GETS BETWEEN 1400-1800 ENTRANTS 70K GAURANTEED)

Monday 15th - The first tournament being sponsored by LatestPokerBonuses I was keen to do well, and flopping trip 9's on the big blind and checking them was a good start, I had doubled my 3k starting stack in the 1st hour. I was playing very tight, except for a loose call with AJ against a small stack who I suspected was stealing my blinds, he wasn't (KK) but I got lucky and hit an ace.

There were not many hands t...

Ecstatic to be sponsored by LPB

Wednesday the 10th of March 2010

On laptop’s and PC’s all around the world millions of people hunch over monitors in the dark of night, the artificial glow of the monitor casting shadows about the room. They are focused, anxious, frustrated, and occasionally (rarely) ecstatic. Most of these poker players consider themselves amateurs, and resign themselves to playing low stakes poker, partly out of fear, but mostly because they are just having some fun. Up until today, I was one of these players.

Latest Poker Bonuses has been generous enough to sponsor me. I’ll will be starting with a $3000 bankroll, and will be...
