For the 5-6 people who actually read this blog I apologize for the 4 weeks of non posting. I'm sure my well written floundering blog was well missed, no? My laziness often knows no bounds (although this doesn't apply to my squash play), and I have no excuse for my lateness, apart from I geuss the annoyance of bubbling so often this month, and quite often with the best hand.
For those who don't know the term bubble. Technically it means the last person in a poker tournament to go out before the money starts. But it can generally apply to anyone busting out within the vicinity of the cash, or what you can call "The Bubble".
This month I have been well acquainted with the bubble, in fact we have become best friends. Much in the same way that Lex luther is best friends with superman, Kenny is to Spenny, and Jerry is to Neuman.....
On the back of numerous bubbling (yes that is the correct verb), I have played quite sparsly this month, playing mostly $20 Omaha Hi/Lo tournaments a few $30 hold 'em tournies, and various $11 rebuys. My cashes have been few and far between, technical I am still ahead from my starting bankroll, but sure doesn't feel like it.
I'll just post one hand that annoyed me mostly.
In early position blinds are 400/200 and i have 9K stack. I minimum raise with KK. I get one caller in the BB. Flop is K-9-2 rainbow flop (rainbow means 3 cards of different suits). Big blind checks the flop and I check behind. The turn is a 7 of spades, and BB leads out with 1K bet, I raise to 3K with my set of kings and BB puts me all-in.
BB turns over KJ, and my set of kings I thought were infallable. The river brings a 4 of spades, and BB has hit runner runner spades to hit a flush, and bust me out of the tournament on the bubble.
So mainly because of hands like these I haven't played much poker the last few weeks, but I will be getting back into it from today. Also please check out my hand of the week in the forums which I will post tommorrow.
Totally off the point, but I thought I'd mention that while I haven't been pwning people on the poker tables. I have been pwning them on the squash courts, the day that I get pwned on both the poker tables and the squash courts would be a very sad day indeed for me, but I don't see it happening anytime in the near future.
