SCOOP Main Event Results

Six figure treats for three winners The PokerStars.com Spring Championship of Online Poker main event concluded this week, with three seperate winners, thanks to the three level buy-in structure introduced by the organisers. The biggest turnout was predictably for the low level buy-in, where 18 747 players registered but were whittled down to a mere 26 over 44 levels by the end of the first day! In the end JannotLapin faced Sador1983 in a heads up which the former won, taking home $151 203.71. His opponent collected a check for $113 338.23 for his second placing. The six-figure payouts went down to fourth placed Naxer who enjoyed a $110 562.42 payday. In the mid-level buy-in main event Team PokerStars Pro J.C. Alvarado triumphed over a field of 3 198 players that had shrunk to 19 by the end of the first day in the 2 day contest. Going in to Day 2, Alvarado was around the middle of the pack, where he pretty much stayed going into the final table until the last few players, when he turned on the pressure in a masterly display until he faced ErikXP across the felt in the heads up. By then Alvarado had a massive six-and-a-half million chip lead, enabling him to despatch his opponent in just a few hands and claim the main mid-level prize of $502 086. ErikXP took home $374 166 as runner-up, and the six-figure territory stopped at 6th placed Phenomenom. The big game in the main event -the high level buy-in - attracted a field of 502 players, with 12 left standing after the first day of action. The heads up between j.thaddeus and ragen70 was largely dominated by the former, who maintained a final table chip lead throughout to claim the main high buy-in prize of $963 338, leaving ragen70 with a lucrative second placing check for $715 350. Six-figure payouts went down as far as Moorman in position 8.
