Top Online Poker Brands

Partypoker, 888 and Pokerstars get the best search engine results Interesting research by the search marketing firm Greenlight positions Partypoker, 888 and Pokerstars as the highest-ranking poker brands online, reports eGaming Review, which claims exclusive sight of the search results this week. The Greenlight study shows that the three poker and gaming brands achieved superior search results to rivals such as Everest, Full Tilt and Ladbrokes when poker-related terms such as 'online poker', 'free poker' and the word 'poker' itself were entered into search engines. EGR says the report, which has also produced results for online casino and bingo sites, classified 287 of the most popular search terms used in the 1.6 million gambling searches made in March 2009. It then analysed their search rankings on Google to see which websites and brands were positioned on page 1 for each term. Partypoker came on the first page for results for 58 percent of the poker terms, while 888 came up for 57 percent, before a sharp fall to Pokerstars which came up for 40 percent. But the most visible site for poker-related searches is online encyclopaedia Wikipedia, which reached 64 percent, EGR reveals. Pokerlistings.com and PKR.com share fourth place with 32 percent, and Pokerroom.com is fifth with 30 percent. British-facing sites topped the list of most visible Internet bingo venues, with Meccabingo leading with 61 percent, followed by FoxyBingo with 56 percent, DreamBingo with 55 percent, then 888 at 52 percent and Littlewoods at 49 percent. Only 12 of the study's top 60 bingo sites reach more than 10 percent visibility, according to the Greenlight research. Encouraging news for online casino operators is that this sector is substantially more successful when it comes to search engine optimisation, with 888 heading the list by reaching a jackpot 100 percent of those entering casino search terms, followed by SpinPalace and WilliamHillCasino, which reached 95 percent and 87 percent respectively.
