Bluff Australsia and Poker News agree new arrangement A merger agreement between PokerNews magazine and Bluff Australasia magazine announced this week will see the latter brand disappear from the Australian scene, which will henceforth be served by the Australia, Asia and Pacific division of Poker News. In addition, Australian poker website, PokerNetwork, will be managed and operated by the newly merged magazine. “We're excited by the opportunities to build on the foundations formed by both brands and establishing PokerNetwork as the preeminent poker media organization in this region,” said Sean Callander, the newly appointed publisher for PokerNews (Australia, Asia, and Pacific) magazine and PokerNetwork. Kirsty Mullins will remain the editor for PokerNews (Australia, Asia, and Pacific), Heath Chick will remain the editor for PokerNetwork, and Stephen Doig will become the general manager of PokerNews (Australia, Asia, and Pacific). “We are delighted to be working with Sean and Stephen,” said Damon Rasheed, Chief Consultant for PokerNews. “Joining forces will enable us to take our magazine to the next level, by using their considerable expertise, which will benefit all poker fans and advertisers in the region.” PokerNews (Australia, Asia and Pacific) magazine will continue to be published bi-monthly, with plans for monthly distribution, as well as Asian-language editions to begin in early 2010.
