Another Massive Online Poker Challenge

Nov 11, 2009
Hopefully this one will move a little faster. The rumours that the new $500 000 Dwan Challenge in London will feature one of Finland's top online poker pros, Ilari Sahamies, have been confirmed by the Finnish star on his blog. Dwan announced the new challenge some weeks ago, amid comment from interested parties that they hoped it would not drag on as long as the Dwan Million Dollar, 50 000 hand Challenge currently only at the halfway mark after several months of on-off action against Patrik Antonius Writing on his blog this week, Sahamies announced that he would be playing heads up against Dwan in the new Challenge, scheduled to take place next week in London. Among the rules governing the new Challenge are: * Challenger picks the game - in Sahamies case that is likely to be Pot Limit Omaha; * Players cannot quit until they have reached 500 hands or the minimum buy-in of $500 000 has been lost. "It is a cool challenge, and it's fun to play against a good friend of mine," wrote Sahamies. "I think 'durrrr' [Dwan's online nick] is one of the best PLO-players in the world, maybe in top 3. I've been winning a lot lately and I have had a good feeling about poker lately, so of course I want to play against Tom. We agreed on the challenge today."
