More Forbes Coverage For Online Poker

Business magazine again focuses on the industry

Forbes magazine has followed its article on Pokerstars earlier this week with a wider look at online poker, particularly in the United States.

Although the article, which can be read in its entirety at: http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2010/0301/gambling-bluffing-government-internet-web-online-poker.html, contains little that is not already known, there are some interesting snippets of information such as:

* Estimated Full Tilt profits of $100 million on revenues of $500 million.

* The involvement of ace player Chris Ferguson with Full Tilt's software development and his previous association with Raymond Bitar.

* H2 Gambling Capital estimates on the growth in the global online poker market - up 24 percent to $4.8 billion annually - around $1.4 billion currently attributed to American players.

* Doyle Brunson's "poker is ready for a fight" comment.

* Frank Catania's answer to the question "Why hasn't the government yet cracked down on the poker firms?" : "The federal government is not going to take any action against them [online poker operators in their jurisdictional reach] because they would stand a chance of losing it."
