Day 3 sees more big name casualties Big names in the poker firmament continued to fall Saturday as the Pokerstars European Poker Tour Main Event concluded Day 3 with only 24 players from an original entry field of 848 still in the hunt for the GBP 900 000 main prize. 104 eliminations walked away from their tables before Sunday dawned, among them Alex Kravchenko, Phil Ivey, Chino Reem, Chris Bjorin, Eric Baldwin, Terry Sherringham, Jeff Sarwer, Noah Boeken, JP Kelly, Daniel Negreanu, Arnaud Mattern, John Dolan, Jake Cody and Greg Raymer - many departing before the day's action was halfway through. Scotland's Day 2 chip leader, the youthful David Vamplew, was unable to sustain his lead but was still very much a competitor in third place having remained in the top five throughout. Ahead of him in second as play ended for the day was Per Ummer, but leader Chance Kornuth from the United States was over half a million ahead when the chips were bagged up for the night. Statistics fans are watching former WSOP champ Joe Hachem to see if he can stay the course and win this event to become the first WSOP, WPT and EPT Triple Crown holder in the history of modern poker, and there are plenty of other aces in the pack, which will play down to a final table Sunday. For example, highly experienced players like the following still represent a major threat: John Juanda, Tom Marchese, Masa Kagawa, Chad Brown, Thomas Bichon and Matt Perrins.
