Flashy beginning of competition between nine survivors Penn & Teller theatre in Rio, Las Vegas was full to the last seat on Nov. 6, with fans, some of them in team colors, cheering for their favorites in the 2010 World Series of Poker final table. In what appeared to be more of a flashy boxing tournament atmosphere, the final nine players seemed to be enjoying the occasion, in which they already won over $1 million each. As previously reported, the final nine survivors and their chip counts are the following: 1 Jonathan Duhamel 65,975,000 2 John Dolan 46,250,000 3 Joseph Cheong 23,525,000 4 John Racener 19,050,000 5 Matthew Jarvis 16,700,000 6 Filippo Candio 16,400,000 7 Michael Mizrachi 14,450,000 8 Soi Nguyen 9,650,000 9 Jason Senti 7,625,000 Level 36 with blinds at 250K/500K started the action. Ante was at 50 000 and average stacks around 24,396,667. The nine got busy straight away and in the second hour, John Racener's managed to take over 6.5 million chips from John Dolan with pocket kings. The next person to outplay Dolan was Michael Mizrachi (who later took the chip lead, but not for long), four-betting after he came over the top of a Jason Senti open, in a move that gave the respected Grinder more chips after both players mucked. Soi Nguyen was the second lowest chip count at the beginning of the game, but after he encountered Senti in a multi-million pot, he ended up being the first player eliminated from the table in what promised to be a very exciting final, earning $811,823. About two hours later, Mizrachi's next victim on level 37 was Matt Jarvis, who was then bound to leave the finals with $1,045,738 in his pocket. The exciting action didn't slow down by late evening: Cheong clashed with Senti and eliminated him, which sent the perturbed Senti to the cashier to collect his $1,356,708. Around 11pm Vegas time the table with five remaining players looked like this: 1 Joseph Cheong 69,225,000 2 Jonathan Duhamel 47,400,000 3 John Racener 42,200,000 4 Michael Mizrachi 32,500,000 5 Filippo Candio 28,275,000 Level 39 boosted the blinds to 500K/1million, with ante at 150,000 and average stacks at 43,914,000. Based on the WSOP history, the 2010 top prize of $8,944,138 will be the third highest ever.
