10th of February 2011 - latestpokerbonuses.com
The anticipated announcement finally comes
In a confirmation of this week's speculations about a new French partnership, Caesars Interactive Entertainment, Inc. (CIE), a subsidiary of Caesars Entertainment Corporation reported that it has teamed up with Lucien Barrière Hôtels & Casinos and BarrierePoker.fr to bring its famous brand, the World Series of Poker to France.
This means that in 2011 the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) will move to Cannes under the name “World Series of Poker Europe Presented by BarrierePoker.fr,” operated by former French state monopoly La Francaise des Jeux and Lucien Barrière. In addition, WSOPE will see the 2010 capacity expand, offering seven WSOP® gold bracelets during the 2011 series, and presenting a new site, WSOP.fr, which will introduce related news and info in French.
“This is a unique agreement between two casino leaders with great brands.” Said Mitch Garber, CIE's chief executive officer, adding: “Lucien Barrière Hôtels & Casinos is a well-run organization and we are excited to work with them to access the French market with high-quality and reputable poker events both in their hotels and casinos, and online with BarrierePoker.fr.”
On the other side, his Groupe Lucien Barriere counterpart Dominique Desseigne opined: “This alliance backs our powerful synergy strategy between offline and online gaming, and it is an honour to associate ourselves with the most prestigious poker tournament in the world.”
