A cross between Zynga and the club subscription business model
A report came this week of a new venture in which a famous former World Series of Poker champion Jamie Gold got involved. This time, he is about to launch a free poker room titled Free Gold Poker, that has been described as "...a cross between Zynga Poker - a completely free online poker room with no real prizes - and subscription-based online poker room - which costs a monthly fee to join and offers tournament prizes.”
It has been specified that the site still does not offer any information on the software in use or the ownership structure. It only states that there are $100 000 monthly up for grabs in cash tournaments and prizes; and the contents it offers include Texas Hold'em, Royal Hold'em and Video Poker games; UFC, WWE gear and event tickets; poker articles, tools and tips and an association with "Poker TV".
