Poker Pro Cheats His Investors?

Sep 18, 2011
Did Rainey take the money and run? A new website appeared this week under the name Nick Rainey is a Thief, placing a story that the online poker pro Nick Rainey conducted a scam that will certainly cost him his reputation and perhaps even his career. And this is what it says: since he needed funds for the World Series of Poker tournaments, Nick Rainey decided to ask for money from 'investors' willing to help him and in return get a share of his winnings in this year's main event. Some people seemed to be interested in the offer, although his results have been quite modest so far, so they contributed thousands of dollars to his buy-in. However, when the tour was over, he first told the investors that he had been eliminated from the main event early and without success, but it was then revealed that he had not entered the competition at all. This is when he shut down all his social networking and email communication channels. Reportedly, he took off to Canada, leaving the investors to complain without high prospects of redress.
