WPT Malta Goes to WSOP Final Tabler

Giannetti takes home EUR200 000 This seems to be a lucrative year for a November Niner, Matt Giannetti, who this week scooped another win by taking down the World Poker Tour Malta Championship. As a reward for his trouble, Giannetti took home a paycheck for EUR200 000 and a $25 000 seat in the WPT World Championship at the Bellagio next April. At the EUR3,500 buy-in tournament played at the Portomaso Casino, Giannetti encountered fierce opposition in some of the 240 other contestants, including Hellmuth, TonyG, Haxton, Bonomo, Clémençon, Sartoris, Trumper and Williamsson. In the heads-up, he defeated his fierce opponent, Italian Cecilia Pescaglini, who almost knocked him out in the third place. However, his steadily aggressive play turned the game in his favor and enabled him to send Pescaglini home with the runner up prize of EUR116,700. With this win, Giannetti's career wins have reached $1.5 million, but he is in for some more big wins yet this year, as he is to reunite with the other eight final tablers for the grand finale of the WSOP main event in November.
