Russian player experiences the perils of playing with the big dogs

The Pokerstars internet high stakes tables were the field of a bloody battle this week, when a Russian online poker player 17AXA first hit a major win on the Pokerstars Sunday Million, and then lost virtually everything only days later when he entered the play against the big dogs on the high stakes tables.

Namely, he started out with an almost $150,000 bankroll, went for the nosebleed $5 000 sit and go tables, where he joined a number of big names who did not need much time to deprive him of the biggest part of his bankroll.

Win only a single but brief peak, the Russian had to gradually ratchet down his action over a long session until he was struggling on the $30 tournament tables. By the time everything ended, he only had $8 000 left from the initial $150,000.
