Good News for US Players at Merge Poker Network
Online poker network opens its doors Even though a few months back the Merge Poker Network denied access to its services to new US players who kept flocking to it after the Black Friday events, this week it announced that it has finally boosted its administrative capabilities enough to reopen its doors to new US sign-ups. However, there are certain restrictions related to the location of the players who want to sign up, so the network will not take any sign-ups from the states of Washington, New York, Louisiana, Missouri and Maryland. And to make things more uncertain, there have been rumors that Merge sites are carrying unearned and unauthorized seals from the player protection and standards body eCOGRA, whose chief executive Andrew Beveridge apparently confirmed that the network had not been reviewed for compliance with eCOGRA's Certified Software Seal requirements, and therefore should not be displaying the seal. Beveridge reportedly stressed: "We will be insisting each of these entities immediately remove any reference of this nature from their websites, and to cease making claims relating to eCOGRA compliance on the forums.”
