ESPN reveals some plans about coverage
In regard to the coverage of the 2011 World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event final table, which is to be held on Nov. 6 in the Rio, Las Vegas, a famous broadcaster ESPN shared some of its plans about the broadcast.
Apparently, the coverage will go “virtually live” (with a 15-minute delay) on ESPN2, from 15h30 ET until only three survivors remain in play. Then, the three will resume play on November 8 at 21h00 ET. Also, those who would rather watch the tournament online can do so via ESPN3 and WSOP websites, as well as via their smartphones using the WatchESPN application.
According to ESPN Senior Director of Programming and Acquisitions, Doug White, "We had great success with our live WSOP main event shows this summer and this kind of unprecedented coverage of the final table on ESPN will allow fans to experience the culmination of the biggest event in poker.”
Another comment arrived from WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart: "There are moments when you realize you're turning an important corner. This coverage shifts the paradigm for poker's potential on television and will showcase our championship with unprecedented richness and scale."
