Fast Tournaments Now Available at Americas Cardroom

More flexibility and more prizes come with new tourneys

The increasingly popular (again) online poker operator, Americas Cardroom, which recently acquired another famous poker operator, Doyles Room, this week announced the launch of two time-based and hand-based tournaments.

Such tournament types will provide players with additional thrill, tight personal schedules and faster action, which makes them perfect for those who have a limited amount of time at their disposal, or simply lack patience to spend hours waiting for hands to exchange.

According to the company spokesman, "While regular Texas Hold'em tournaments play out until only one player is left standing in order to determine the prize pool distribution, time-based tournaments at Americas Cardroom.com end after a designated period of time, regardless of how many players remain. When the clock runs out, players are paid out according to their rank; a player's rank is determined by how many chips they have."

As for the new hand-based tournaments, they are limited in terms of the number of hands played out – for now, they are available in a 60-hand format, whereas time-based tournaments have a 15 and 30-minute clock.
