VPN Users Identified and Banned by PokerStars
Those who hide geographical whereabouts are clamped down on Over the weekend, a report came that the PokerStars customers using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) that mask the players' geographical whereabouts by re-routing their connection through foreign servers, are being identified and disabled to play, as a great number of them comes from the US. This action is taken because the online poker giant is determined to comply with the U.S. Department of Justice's requirements and not take any US action. In a response to one of the players affected by the poker site's move, a PokerStars representative said: "Consequently, your account balance will remain indefinitely frozen pending further legal review of this situation. "We regret that we cannot be the bearer of better news. You will not be permitted to return to PokerStars in the meantime."
