Trickett Takes Down Partouche Poker Tour
Young Brit shows his skill This weekend saw the end of the 2011 Partouche Poker Tour, which brought much joy to the UK poker fans, as their fellow national Sam Trickett outplayed a field of 579 entrants and took down a major win - EUR1 million (his third seven-figure take-home this year alone) main prize and the important title. The other two of his major wins this year involve a A$1,525,000 victory in the Aussie Millions High Roller event, as well as the A$1,400,000 he took for the second placing at Super High Roller. Apart from Trickett, the Partouche Poker Tour final table comprised Salman Behbehani, Oleksil Kovalchuk, Ilan Boujenah, Roger Hairabedian, Alexander Dovzhenko, Mustapha Kanit, Alexandre Coussy and Mads Wissing. In the heads-up, the Brit faced US player Salman Behbehani, whom he managed to defeat despite the 2 to 1 disadvantage at the beginning of the action. However, the runner-up prize may be quite comforting for Behbehani, as it amounts to hefty EUR 600 000. Thanks to the win, Trickett has become one of the top earners among European pros, with his career earnings reaching a bit less than $6.5 million.
