First set of licenses covers big firms
An announcement came this week from the Belgian Gaming Commission of the issuing of the first three online poker licensees to reputable companies.
In addition, the commission promised it would block any unauthorized operations, reminding that its four main ISPs have already agreed to cooperate in such initiatives.
As for the three licensees that got the commission's approval to operate online poker, they include three designated Belgian sites by PokerStars, Partouche and Casino777, all of which are related to Belgian entities.
With this move, it seems like Belgium is moving on with its restrictive regulations which have not been regarded amiably by the European Commission.
