Bluff Media bought for an undisclosed consideration
In yet another move towards the potential US online gambling market, a land horseracing company Churchill Downs entered an acquisition deal with the well-known Atlanta-based poker information media firm Bluff Media.
So far, there has been no disclosure of the terms of the purchase of the multimedia poker content, brand and publishing company which is famous for its Bluff Magazine, an online database called ThePokerDB and various websites including Bluff and BluffPoker.
According to Churchill Downs, it could build on Bluff Media’s offerings, in addition to its own online wagering site, “in the event there is a liberalization of state or federal laws with respect to Internet poker in the United States.” Prior to this, the company’s CEO Bob Evans was clear that Churchill Downs would be interested in the online gambling business in case of legalization.
Regarding the acquisition, it has been specified that co-presidents of Bluff Media Eddy Kleid and Eric Morris and vice president of online operations, Jeff Markley, will keep their positions after the takeover.
