Probability plc Wants Nevada Internet Poker License
Mobile Gambling Technology Firm looks toward US for opportunities Probability plc, the UK mobile gambling technology provider, looking to the United States for new opportunities in anticipation of possible legalization of online gaming, has applied for Nevada poker online license. Charles Cohen, Probability plc chief executive, said the group chose Nevada because he believes it will be the first US state to respond to the recent policy switch on internet gambling legalization by the US Department of Justice. The DoJ now opines that the Wire Act at the moment applies only to online sports betting, but sees other forms of online gambling as ready for regulation and licensing both on federal or individual state level. Cohen claims that mobile is the only platform where the location of the user can be assured with any degree of certainty when bets are placed, making it a logical choice for intrastate offerings. Analysts point out that the UK company will likely enter into a partnership with a US entity in order to acquire a license. Subsequently, Cohen stressed, the company's directors and management will be subjected to strict probity checks as part of the licensing procedure.
