Update: Belgian Authorities Spread the Fight against Unlicensed Operators
The national police get involved The decisiveness of Belgian gambling regulators to fight unlicensed operators in the country seems to be as zealous as ever – this week, apart from blacklisting unauthorized operators and sending the lists to ISPs with a blocking demand, the Belgian Gaming Commission also threatened with action against financial channels, whereas the Office of Public Prosecutions sent the lists to the national police with a request for action where possible. However, it has been stated by the Commission official Peter Naessens that illegal operators have a chance to repent and close their websites to Belgian players, which could take them off the Commission's black list. He added: “We will examine if they really exclude Belgian players at their .com site. If they really do, then we will propose these operators be removed from the blacklist at the next meeting of the BGC.” One of the blacklisted sites, Chilipoker, has already complained because it's on the blacklist.
