Danish tournament goes to O'Dwyer
US pro Steve O'Dwyer keeps scooping tournament triumphs in Scandinavia – first an EPT tour in Copenhagen, and now this week the World Poker Tour Vejle in Denmark.
This tournament saw 289 entrants fight for the lion's share in the $572,220 prize pool, but after three days of action, only six of the contestants made it to the final table: O'Dwyer - in the chip lead, Martin Tønnesen; Kenneth Laursen; Jan V. Sørensen; Justin Lund; and Claus Uhrskov.
In the heads-up, O'Dwyer faced fellow American Martin Tonnesen, whom he sent home with a runner-up prize of DKK490.140 (about GBP54,919.), taking some DKK 893,960 (about GBP100,167) as the main prize for himself.
