Black Friday Companies And Individuals To Respond by May 14
Parties now given an extension to respond to federal civil case The Black Friday civil proceedings continued to echo around the industry as yet another extension was granted by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. This week it was to Pokerstars, Full Tilt Poker, Absolute Poker, Howard Lederer, Ray Bitar, Rafe Furst and payment processor Chad Elie who failed to meet the March 19 response deadline now extended to May 14, 2012. Numerous extensions have been granted because of new developments since the respondents' original response deadline of November 30, 2011. The contents of the extension were approved on March 20 by Judge Leonard B. Sand. Meanwhile, rumors are circulating across the internet that the protracted Group Bernard Tapie acquisition of Full Tilt Poker is imminent, hopefully including payment for US players via the DoJ. Still, Behnam Dayanim, a GBT lawyer, declined to comment on it. Nevertheless, it has been reported by unidentified sources that a relaunch of FTP will take place in March, despite the fact that the company was still seeking the reinstatement of its Alderney license.
