Pokerfest Is a Big Investment, Party Poker Says

April tournament to offer a $3.5 million guaranteed prize pool

The latest novelty at Party Poker is the return of its popular online poker festival – Pokerfest, and it appears it has grand plans with it.

Namely, the company announced it’s investing $3.5 million in guaranteed prize pools for the festival, which will comprise 47 different events that will begin on 22nd April and running through 6th May 2012. Qualifiers starting from as little as a $1 buy-in started this week, whereas the headline $1 million guaranteed main event is scheduled for 6th May.

An extra $500,000 has been added to the prize pool as well as the chance to win a $14,000 WSOP 2012 package, and according to a Party Poker spokesman, “We want everyone to get involved with Pokerfest II so we've developed a number of new qualifying routes and added $500,000 and WSOP packages to the prize pool. We will also have a wide range of extra promotions and side events."
