From 13 going to 8 stops next year
This week, online poker giant PokerStars announced that it will reduce the number of the European Poker Tour stops in season 9 next year, from the current 13 to just 8 stops. Also, it stated that it has entered partnerships with the Estrellas Poker and the UK and Ireland Poker Tours.
Furthermore, the announcement states that the new season will start in Barcelona on August 15 this year and end in Monte Carlo in May 2013, and that its stops will include Barcelona, San Remo, Prague, the Bahamas, Deauville, London, Berlin, and Monaco.
According to EPT President Edgar Stuchly, "We looked at every EPT season up until now and asked ourselves how we could make the tour even better for the players.
"In the end, every change comes down to making this a better tour for the people who make this tour what it is: our players."
