Bellagio Hotel and Casino Hosts the Five Star World Poker Classic Series
In Las Vegas, the Bellagio Hotel and Casino is preparing to kick off the Five Star World Poker Classic poker series, home of the season-ending $25,000 World Poker Tour Championship main event. The series begins with the first of 34 events on Friday, May 4th. Tournaments to accommodate many levels of players will be featured with buy-ins from $330 up to a $100,000 buy-in for the WPT Super High Roller. After its successful debut last year to great success, the Super High Roller event is back for a second year on May 23rd. The exciting event will be covered live for a WPT televised broadcast. The Five Star World Poker Classic includes quite a few great events but the most highly anticipated event will undoubtedly be the $25,000 World Poker Tour Championship main event. The event starts May 19th and will continue until there is one final player standing at the televised WPT final table on May 26th. During last year's main event, an impressive 220 players posted the $25,000 buy-in resulting in a hefty $5,335,000 prize pool. Scott Seiver was crowned the champion and took the $1,618,334 first prize. Registration for the main event will be open until Monday, May 21st.
