Asia Poker Tour Heads to Mauritius
A deal was signed to take the Asian Poker Tour beyond Asia as it will run the APT Mauritius at the Ti Vegas Casino, Grand Bay from August 16th – August 19th. The eight-day poker event at the Indian Ocean island will feature an APT Asian Series tournament, including a €900 buy-in main event, eight side events and a €2,200 buy-in High Roller competition. There's even a Ladies Event scheduled. Side event buy-ins begin as low as €110 and go as high as €440 and a 'Battle of the Nations' Team tournament will also be held with a €3,300 buy-in for each team. This will be the first time the APT has travelled outside of Asia and an excited tour chief executive officer Jeff Mann commented on the issue. According to Mann, after a series of requests from their regular players throughout Asia, they have decided to host additional events in new venues and have accommodated the requests my adding an event in Mauritius. Mann also said that they have also received quite a few requests from event organizers, casinos and locations across the globe interested in hosting future festivals. Mann is happy to be working with Ti Vegas as he believes them to be a leading casino on the island and a leader in the area of poker development.
