Update: Tough Battle Brings Weissman First WSOP Bracelet

24-year-old Florida pro wins Event 46

Joey Weissman of Florida won this year’s World Seris of Poker Event 46 - $2,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em entered by 1,607 players after the exhausting nine-hour final table and a tough heads-up game against Jeremy Quehen of Nice, France.

This is the first WSOP bracelet for the young 24-year-old poker pro who also took home the main prize of $694,609 on Wednesday.

Weissman played very-well dominating the final table to reach the heads up at Level 31 holding more than 2 to 1 chip advantage, but the Quehen remained focused and even managed to take the lead at one point.

After three hours of demanding heads-up battle, the Frenchmen was finally eliminated with the justifiably high second prize of $429,535 at 3am local time with the blinds at 60,000-120,000 with a 15,000 ante.

Final table payouts also included:

Fernando Brito $282,676

Philip Meulyzer $203,781

Bradley Lipsey $149,162

Joe Gualtieri $110,775

Michael Gagliano $83,428

Joshua Pedraza $63,686

Konstantin Puchkov $49,245
