Gus Hansen to join the charity tournament
Gus "The Great Dane" Hansen managed to get the last remaining seat in the $1 million dollar Big One for One Drop tournament scheduled for Saturday at the Rio in Las Vegas.
Hansen won a $25,000 satellite to qualify for the big event eliminating some of the top poker players.
Jason Somerville was sent home with the third prize of $400,000. Shaun Deeb and Hansen clashed in the heads up where a runner up is entitled either to an alternate seat or a million dollars prize.
Some speculations suggest that two players had a discussion before the heads-up game when they might have agreed on who would win million dollars, and who would go forward and play in the tournament for the possible main prize of $18 million.
Hansen later said that this was one of the toughest fields he had ever encountered.
