Update: World Series of Poker National Championship Goes to Local Player

Eriquezzo takes home his biggest career win to date

The $10,000 buy-in World Series of Poker National Championship wrapped up on July 11, with the victory of New Haven poker pro Ryan Eriquezzo, who took home his first bracelet and $416,051 – his biggest win to date.

On his way to the glory, he bested a field of 157 hopefuls, mainly professional players; while this talented 27-year-old professional himself earned a free seat in the event through success on the World Series of Poker Circuit.

The final table that included Amanda Musumeci, Sam Stein, David Baker, Matt Keikoan, Andy Hwang and Huy Nguyen, Eriquezzo faced Nikolas Stone was a tough nut to crack and Eriquezzo had to show his best, especially in the heads up with Stone – his biggest threat throughout the final table.

However, he managed to outplay him and send him to the exit with the runner-up's prize of $257,119, claiming the trophy for himself.
